Ancient Vine Dress

I am so thrilled that I bought this dress. Even the close-up don’t quite tell the story of all the details it was put into this dress. The embroidery is really beautifully executed, and the fact that you put it on a textured background is just one more detail that doesn’t quite read in the photo. The wide band at the hem line, add weight and substance to the dress, and it also adds beautiful detail. When you get up close to it, you can really begin to appreciate the work that went into the way this closely knit lace piece was created. It’s fantastic. The colors are classic and the dress fits like a dream. It is going to be really wonderful in all this heat and with some layering it will take me well into the fall. I did buy a size larger because cotton dresses of this type of shrink a bit after first washing. I always wash my dresses before I wear them. Then they are their true size. I am so glad I bought this piece.

I love this dress with its thoughtful combination of floral block print stripes, embroidered panels on the bodice, pockets, perfect length. I was wishing there were one in every color. And what to my delight--there's a red version which I have just sent for:-)

I just wrote a review and lost it-this might be a repeat:-) I love this dress. The cotton in a floral block print stripe, the placement of the waist with the button-on ties, the lovely embroidered panels along the center front, -and pockets! I wish I could have it in five other colors:-)

The dress fabric color is a bit darker, but the brilliant blue accent lace is as in the pictures. This dress is comfortable and lightweight for summer. I’m very happy with this purchase.

This is a pretty and comfortable dress, but the colors bear no resemblance to the photo on-line. The colors on-line are a light, bright cobalt blue with bright red and gold in the print and the embroidery. The actual dress is a dark print with dark blue lace hem and dull, dark embroidery. I'm keeping the dress because it is still pretty, but many times lately the color of the garment I ordered is not the light, bright colors of the garment on-line and in the catalogue. That's why I gave it 4 stars.

This is a lovely dress - cotton, embroidery, edging, but it doesn't bear a resemblance to this color at all. Mine looks black; I love blue, but the one I received is so dark even in bright sunlight that I'm not sure I'll keep it and I wish someone had warned me.

This is an incredibly beautiful dress! That said, the two ties came off in the first wash, and two buttons came off. It's a lovely dress, and quite frankly more than worth repairing.

There isn't anything I don't like about this dress! The colors, the details, the pattern, the shapely way it hangs. I just received it yesterday, and it looks great on! I'm going to wear it this coming wknd. I'm 5'5", weigh 137, and I ordered a Small. Fit perfectly! Thank you, once again, to April and her design team for another unique and lovely dress!! I don't even bother to stop anywhere else.
