Saratoga Dressing Gown - Blue Green

I wanted to love this, but the fabric is too light weight for a dressing gown, particularly when you're adding embroidery. There is little to no interfacing in the shawl collar and it does not maintain it's shape. I'm a seamstress and when you are using a fabric that is light, (about the weight of a man's flannel shirt), and adding embroidery, you need a good solid interfacing and this robe does not have it. The pockets are nice and there is an inner tie as well as cloth belt.

I love the embroidery, and the length. Oh, and the fabric weight. So many robes are way too heavy!

I wore it for the first time last night in the middle of the night. It's unseasonably cold here and I was looking forward to wearing a cozy, flannel robe. It's a good length and fit. Sadly, though, it's really thin. Not very warm at all. It's beautiful, though. Just not warm.

I almost returned this dressing gown because the material is much lighter than I expected and the color is much darker than the photo showed; but decided to keep it because the fabric is very soft and cozy, the detail on the color and the cut of the pockets are very attractive. In spite of the thin fabric, the robe is warm enough on these winter days and, I expect, will be able to be worn year round when needed. It is true to size with a generous wrap. Note:the belt would need to be pressed after washing if you want it to remain as flat as it was when new.

My best friend fell in love with this robe and gown set during her recent visit to my home. I purchased us matching robe and nightgown sets for Christmas! This robe is lovely, cozy and perfect for the holidays. We both absolutely love our gown and robe ensembles. I also ordered the Camaloon in this plaid which is my "go to" while the weather is still warm. I now have a lovely nightgown collection thanks to April.
