Mandarin Dress

I am 5’2” 115 pounds & age 68. This dress fit me very well and is soft and light-perfect for summer. Some of April Cornell‘s dresses have far too much fabric for my small petite frame. I always order extra extra small but vanity sizing seems to be a factor with this brand, so even that smallest size does not always work for me. (to be fair, I am a true petite size with narrower shorter proportions everywhere). This one was great because of the straight design and not too much fabric. I am adding a sash on the back to pull in the waist just a bit, as it is a straight cut and I wanted to accentuate my curves a bit more. Surprise was that the front is a woven cotton, and the back is a slub knit cotton. Very lightweight and on the thinner side. The dress is not see-through, however, so no problem there, but I do wonder if the cotton knit back will bag out if I sit for a long time. Have not worn it where I have been sitting for long, so don’t know yet. The stitching details & covered buttons on the front of the dress are very nice and well constructed. Overall good quality and I’m happy with the purchase. It is a somewhat indescribable color kind of rose, kind of salmon, kind of raspberry all at once - looks different in different lighting. I am light/fair skin with yellow undertones and this color worked well for me.
